During their recent meeting, Ellis County commissioners recognized County Clerk Krystal Valdez for her office’s achievement of the Exemplary 5-Star Award in Vital Registration.
Commissioner Lane Grayson made the presentation.
“There has never been a time that any of my staff have gone to the county clerk’s office and not been treated with the utmost respect and consideration,” Grayson said. “Krystal and her staff always treat visitors like they are the most important customers there.”
The award is given by the Vital Statistics Unit of the Texas Department of State Health Services to local government registrars who report critical statistics such as births, deaths, and marriages in a timely and accurate manner, and in compliance with statute.
Ellis County Judge Todd Little said of the award, “Krystal and her team maintain all our public records, conduct civil ceremonies, and help to protect the integrity of all our elections. Our county government would not be successful without her hard work.”
On her part, Valdez credited her staff for the distinction.
“I am absolutely honored to receive this award, but it truly belongs to all my hardworking staff in the county clerk’s office,” Valdez said. “We are successful because we are a team.”
