Fort Worth All Saints three-star wide receiver Chris Palfreeman announced his commitment to Texas Tech on social media Wednesday.
Palfreeman, the 44th ranked prospect on The Dallas Morning News’ top 50 recruits list for the class of 2023, released a top five schools list in November that included Texas, Texas A&M and SMU, but chose the Red Raiders instead.
The 5-10, 160 pound receiver played his first two seasons of high school football at Brock, where he was named a first-team District 4-3A Div. I honoree at running back after a sophomore season in which he totaled 1,250 total yards and 14 total touchdowns.
In his first season at All Saints, Palfreeman caught 57 passes for 890 yards and four touchdowns.
Texas Tech’s class of 2023 recruiting class — the second under the watch of former Cedar Hill coach Joey McGuire — currently ranks second nationally and includes five Dallas-area players: Mansfield four-star safety Brenden Jordan, Waxahachie four-star cornerback Calvin Simpson-Hunt, Justin Northwest three-star quarterback Jake Strong, three-star Frisco Reedy wide receiver Kaleb Smith and Palfreeman.
Jordan, Simpson-Hunt, Strong and Palfreeman are all ranked within The News’ top 50. The Red Raiders signed seven of The News’ top 100 class of 2022 recruits.
