Sacramento guard Tyrese Haliburton broke out for the first time on Saturday since missing two games due to health and safety protocols with 38 points against Philadelphia. With starting point guard De’Aaron Fox (ankle) questionable for tonight when the Kings take on New York, can Haliburton be counted on to produce on a high level for a second straight game in NBA DFS lineups? Fox’s replacement, Davion Mitchell, hasn’t been afraid to take shots, but he hasn’t been the scoring threat that Fox or Haliburton have been this season.
The Knicks are a much tougher Fantasy defense against opposing point guards than two-guards, and Mitchell should be respected enough on defense that New York won’t be able to simply blanket Haliburton. In two of his four games since returning, Haliburton has shot over 57 percent from the field, but can he do it again and provide top value from Monday’s NBA DFS player pool? Before locking in your NBA DFS picks for Monday, be sure to check out the NBA DFS advice, player rankings, stacks and top daily Fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.
McClure is a DFS professional with nearly $2 million in career winnings. He’s also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account.

On Sunday, McClure included Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo as one of his top NBA DFS picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. The result: Antetokounmpo finished as the top power forward in the main slate of games with 29 points and nine rebounds to return 47.25 points on DraftKings and 47.8 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.
Now, McClure has turned his attention to the Monday, January 31, NBA DFS slate and locked in his top daily Fantasy basketball picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.
Top NBA DFS picks for Monday, January 31
One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for Monday is Thunder rookie Josh Giddey, who is listed at $7,300 on DraftKings and $5,700 on FanDuel. After a two-game scoring lull against the Cavaliers and Bulls, Giddey was back to double-figures in the box score with 15 points against the Pacers last Friday. He also grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out five assists in the losing effort for the Thunder.
Oklahoma City takes on Portland on Monday night in the first meeting between the two Western Conference sides this season. With top scoring threat Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (ankle) out until at least the All-Star break, Giddey is among the Thunder players that will be expected to step up on offense. Defense has never been the Trail Blazers‘ strong suit, and this year, they rank second-to-last in points allowed per 100 possessions (114.7).
Another part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes rostering 76ers center Andre Drummond ($3,700 on DraftKings and $4,400 on FanDuel). Philadelphia center Joel Embiid was confirmed on Monday to receive the night off tonight against Memphis, paving the way for Drummond to capitalize on the added minutes. Rebounding has always been Drummond’s calling card, and Grizzlies opponents have been most successful on the glass this season when Memphis has been the visiting side, as it is on Monday.
Although Drummond has primarily played in a reserve role this season, the percentage of rebounds that he takes when he’s on the floor is at the highest rate of his career. In 11 starts this season, Drummond has averaged 13.5 rebounds, 8.4 points and 1.6 blocks. In his previous appearance against Memphis this year, Drummond scored just six points, but he snagged nine rebounds and added three blocks and assists in 20 minutes of action.
