A virtual health and wellness fair for seniors has been organized for March 21-25.
Participants can learn about helpful services, information on healthy living, getting active and connecting with others.
The upcoming Virtual Seniors Health and Wellness Fair is a collaborative effort sponsored by Hospice Palliative Care Ontario, Community Support Centre of Essex/ WECCC, Home Instead Tecumseh and Leamington, South Asian Centre of Windsor, CARP, Health Commons Solutions Lab, Sinai Health and in partnership with the Older Adult Centres’ Association of Ontario with funding provided by the Government of Ontario.
“We’ve all experienced feelings of loneliness during the pandemic, and seniors are at a particularly high risk for isolation,” said Colleen Jershy, owner of the Home Instead office serving Windsor-Essex. “The upcoming Health and Wellness Fair for Seniors invites older adults to discover new ways to re-connect within their communities and re-engage in doing the things that are most important to them.”
The fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. Theme-based educational webinars and live interactive classes will be offered each day.
People are invited to stay online to connect with others socially as part of a “virtual community lunch” after the formal presentations are over.
To register for one or more days go to eventbrite.ca/e/270768294257.
